Hey,
I'm Sian Bradley,
a freelance journalist, writer and photographer
You can find the online version of my CV here, and use this website to browse some of my work, if you like.
What I Do
I'm a dedicated journalist with bylines in nationals and regionals (you can find the full list on my CV). My usual beats are politics, social issues, culture, technology, sex and relationships and women's rights but I am happy to write on a range of topics and particularly interested in covering climate change and home affairs.
Vibrant features and reports are my favourite thing to write. I am an experienced, reliable, efficient news and SEO writer, with over a hundred bylines of shareable news and features completed during shifts with Metro Lifestyle and regionals under the publisher Reach PLC. My skills include: turning around clean, engaging copy at speed, utilising a strong contacts list, sensitive interviewing skills, and the ability to spot alternative angles and interesting stories. I'm also calm under pressure.
As of June 2023, I have completed a master's degree in Investigative Journalism from City, University of London, during which I worked for Private Eye and The Bureau of Investigative Journalism. I am looking for full and part-time work and freelance gigs. I can write in shorthand and am keen to attend more court cases and inquests as a reporter.
I've worked on podcasts and documentaries for Resident Advisor and Broccoli Productions, and social media campaigns for The Mix and Face Equality International. Outside of journalism, I enjoy taking 35mm film pictures, which you can find in Vice. I'm an organiser for Acorn Haringey, juggling multiple roles to help win campaigns such as Ban The Bailiffs.
